  • Dog-Friendly Holiday Parks

If you are searching for dog-friendly caravan parks, The Waterside Group is the perfect choice. Our parks are located in spectacular locations, surrounded by a choice of both coastal and rural walks. No holiday is complete without the feeling of sand between your toes….or paws!! All of our parks have dog-friendly beaches nearby. Bowleaze Cove Holiday Park & Spa even has direct access to Bowleaze Cove where dogs are allowed throughout the whole year.

Back on the parks, not only will you discover dedicated dog walking areas at Bowleaze and Chesil but you will also find a selection of dog-friendly accommodation options meaning you are sure to find exactly what you are looking for. Your four-legged friend can also join you in the Stargazy Bar & Grill at Tregoad and The Country Club at Osmington. Breeze Bar & Grill at Chesil has a heated outdoor covered section where dog owners are welcome while there are sheltered outdoor areas of both The Dog House and Southside at Bowleaze Cove where you can eat with your furry friend in tow. Regretfully, we are unable to allow dogs in our entertainment Venues.

So, since we welcome all well-behaved dogs (other than those listed in the Dangerous dogs Act) and their owners, rather than booking your dog, or dogs (up to 2 if they are small breeds under 15kg), into kennels, or imposing them on family and friends, why not treat them to a well-deserved holiday too?

N.B. If you have a very small dog, please be aware that the gap between the balustrades on your decking can be up to 10cms.

    Dog-friendly accommodation

When you choose to bring your furry friend on holiday with you, it is not uncommon for that to mean you are significantly restricted in your choice of holiday accommodation. Not on our dog-friendly caravan parks. We do have limited numbers of dog-friendly holiday homes so book early and you will find a choice of holiday homes from Classic through to Signature and even some with Hot tubs …… although we are afraid that these are not suitable for our four-legged friends! If you would rather a Cottage, at Tregoad you will not be disappointed, with a selection of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom dog-friendly options.

Indeed, there is no compromise on comfort with little difference between our dog-friendly models and other caravans. What is more, to ensure your dog gets plenty of fresh air, all dog friendly caravans, regardless of grade, have decking or outside space. N.B. If you have a very small dog, please be aware that the gap between the balustrades on your decking can be up to 10cms.

    Dog friendly beaches Dorset

If you are searching for a dog-friendly holiday park, Bowleaze is the perfect choice, with direct access to Bowleaze Cove which welcomes dogs throughout the whole year. Nearby and also within easy reach of Chesil Beach are both West Bexington and Ringstead as well as Weymouth Beach itself during the low season.

From Chesil Beach, direct access to the South West Coast Path gives you the option of walks along the best that the Jurassic Coast has to offer, including Chesil Bank and Fleet Lagoon Nature Reserve. Alternatively, a short hop over to the Isle of Portland and you are welcome at Church Ope Cove.

    Dog friendly beaches Cornwall

Over in Cornwall, Tregoad, your nearby dog-friendly beaches include Plaidy Beach which is best visited at low tide, Hannafore a mile to the West of Looe itself, Seaton where you will also find a good cafe, Downderry Beach which is on the coast path and south-facing Millendreath Beach (low season only and best at low tide).

Whether your dog likes to spend their time digging holes, splashing in waves or simply running free, beach time will certainly make for a dog-friendly holiday whether visiting Dorset or Cornwall.

    Dogs Go Free at Tregoad

The ultimate retreat for dog lovers and their furry companions! Nestled in the stunning landscapes of our holiday park, Tregoad offers a unique experience for both two-legged and four-legged guests alike. Our dog-friendly park boasts an array of amenities designed specifically with your canine friends in mind. From our exhilarating dog agility course to our serene dog trail, there’s no shortage of adventure for your furry pals.

After a long day of exploring our beautiful surroundings, we understand the need for a clean and comfortable space for your pets. That’s why we offer a convenient dog spa, complete with a self-serve bath station equipped with shampoo and other grooming essentials for owners to use. Keep your accommodation pristine by treating your furry friend to a refreshing bath at our dog spa, ensuring a hassle-free and enjoyable stay for both you and your pet.

On arrival, we also provide a dog welcome pack which includes a ‘Woof Guide’ suggesting a range of dog-friendly pubs & cafes, walks, beaches, dog shopping and on-site rules. It also includes a 10% voucher for the Dog House Cornwall, treats and more!

At Waterside, our team love dogs and we’re proud to be a pet-friendly destination. Our park hosts dog shows where pups of all shapes and sizes can get involved and showcase their talents. All areas of our Stargazy Bar & Grill and entertainment room are dog-friendly so you can bring your pup along for all activities.

    Eating and drinking

We are delighted to allow well behaved dogs to accompany their owners when eating both indoors at Stargazy Bar & Grill (Tregoad) and The Country Club (Osmington) as well as our outdoor dining areas of The Dog House and Southside (Bowleaze Cove) and Breeze Bar & Grill (Chesil Beach). You will however no doubt wish to also venture further afield and our Park Teams will happily make some recommendations as to which bars and restaurants locally are dog-friendly and whether it is advisable to book in advance.

    Entertainment

Our Venues can be noisy, busy environments and therefore we do not allow dogs to access these facilities.

    Days out

The most striking attraction on your holiday is almost certainly going to be the coast. From cliff walks to lazy beach days, there is something for everyone where the sea meets the land. However, for truly pet friendly caravan holidays in Weymouth or Cornwall, you may be wondering if there are any other activities you can enjoy with your dog.

Head to a picturesque town or village to soak up the local culture. Dogs are welcome visitors throughout Dorset and Cornwall so take them exploring with you.

Many of Dorset’s other famous attractions are ideal for visiting with dogs, too. Durdle Door, Swanage Railway, Old Harry Rocks and Corfe Castle are just a few places that welcome dogs on their days out with owners.

In Cornwall, take your canine friend to Pinetum Gardens, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, The Shipwreck Treasure Museum and the Eden Project (outside areas only) amongst other dog friendly attractions.

    Accommodation

Although our sites are dog-friendly, that doesn’t mean we make the owners compromise on comfort.

Unlike many other holiday companies, we offer a wide range of dog-friendly accommodation including Superior, Deluxe and Signature caravan holiday homes as well as Safari Tents at Bowleaze and Cottages at Tregoad. One thing they all have in common is that for your peace of mind, all dog-friendly accommodation has either decking or outside space
