Here at the Waterside Holiday Group, our fundraising efforts for 2022 are well underway!

 

After raising over £11,000 for charity in 2021 despite various covid restrictions, we want to keep up the momentum and challenge ourselves to raise £25,000 in 2022. We are please to announce that we will be fundraising to support Dorset Mind and Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance this year.

 

Chesil to Corfe challenge for Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance

 

We have a variety of fantastic fundraising events planned to raise money throughout the year, including a charity team walk which has become an annual tradition for the Waterside Group. Over the last 3 years, our team have walked over 83km and this year, we are preparing for our biggest charity walk ever… a 30 mile hike from our Chesil Beach Holiday Park, all the way to Corfe Castle on the 5^th July! All money raised during this event will be donated to Dorset and Somerset Air ambulance.

Leadership Team Auction for Dorset Mind

 

To kickstart our fundraising for Dorset Mind, we will be putting our Leadership Team up for auction! Our departments will come together to make a silent bid on one of our Leadership Team members and they will be trying something new for the day. Maybe our Head of Sales will be checking in holiday guests, or will our General Manager will be helping out with housekeeping.

On Friday 22nd April  we are also hosting a Waterside team picnic celebrate National Picnic Day and raise some additional funds!

Tandem skydive for Cornwall Air Ambulance

 

Down in Cornwall, our team at Tregoad are also going the extra mile to raise money for Cornwall Air Ambulance! Tregoad Holiday Park’s General Manager Matt is preparing to take part in a tandem skydive, all for a great cause!

Every year Cornwall Air Ambulance attends around 1000 Critical Care missions and since they rely on community groups, individuals and businesses to keep the charity flying high- every penny counts.

Weldmar Hospicecare Sahara Trek

Last but not least, our queen of housekeeping, LaToya has signed herself up for the Weldmar Hospicecare Sahara Trek!

 

Next year, LaToya will be trekking approximately 50km across the Sahara Desert, facing scorching temperatures by day and freezing temperatures by night, when she will be sleeping under the stars with the Berbers and camels.

Weldmar provide specialist end of life care and support for struggling families. All services are provided free of charge and 21% of their funds are provided by the NHS, leaving Weldmar needing to raise £18,000 per day to fund their free of charge services!
