There is so much to see and do during your park holidays in Dorset. Of course you are spoilt for choice with the park’s own facilities and entertainment, but there are fantastic places to discover within easy walking distance of our front gates, too.

This small sand and shingle beach nestled within the Jurassic Coast is known for its geology.
It’s a popular family beach during the summer season and perfect for kayaking or paddleboarding.
Just a short stroll from your park accommodation, this is the perfect family beach destination during your holiday.
An amazing 630 mile national walking trail with fantastic views of the coast… but you don’t have to walk the whole thing!
Cutting through the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, the local part of the path boasts amazing geology and scenery.
It’s easy to access from the park and simple to navigate using the acorn symbol way markers.
Lodmoor is a quiet haven for wildlife, set in the seaside town of Weymouth.
The area is perfect for bird watchers as it attracts a huge variety of birds including Bearded Tits, Cetti’s Warblers, Gulls, Ducks, kingfishers and Winter Waders.
With viewing points and pushchair-friendly nature trails, a visit to Lodmoor is a great way to get the whole family involved in nature.
A 4.7 mile circular walk starting at the park itself and utilising part of the South West Coast Path.
This walk is packed with things to see including beautiful views of the coast, a Roman Temple and Villa and a chalk horse carved into the hillside.
There are some gentle climbs and descents but it’s a great walk for the whole family.
Located in Bowleaze Cove and within easy reach of Waterside Holiday Park & Spa.
There are plenty of rides to enjoy including dodgems, teacups, a ghost train, a merry-go-round, indoor play and an amusement arcade.
Perfect for entertaining children- young and old!
For a cultural trip out, visit the remains of this Romano-Celtic temple built circa 4th century AD.
This English Heritage site is free to visit, allows dogs on leads and offers great views.
Located just above Bowleaze Cove, the temple is in very easy reach of the park.
The bay, stretching from Weymouth, includes several beaches, including the golden sands of Weymouth Beach itself.
Sheltered from south-west winds, the waters here are great for sailing and the bay hosted sailing events for the 2012 Olympics.
If you’re keen to get out on the water yourself, there are opportunities to take daytrips, charter a fishing boat or even learn to sail.
Weymouth’s colourful and vibrant Harbour lies at the heart of the seaside town, offering a charming location to sit with your fish and chips as you watch the boats go by. Alternatively, treat yourself to a meal at one of the many fine restaurants that have made the harbour their home over the years.
For those arriving by sea, short-term mooring is available within the inner harbour, suitable for Pontoon mooring for Vessels up to 8.5m (LOA) and Versadock mooring is also available if you are considering bringing your Jet Skis.
