    • Near the Park

    As well as all the on-park facilities and entertainment, there are some little gems to explore that are within walking distance of the park.

    If you’re willing (and have time!) to go further afield, there are dozens of Dorset attractions to visit.

    Chesil Beach

    • An 18-mile long pebble beach stretching north-west from Portland to West Bay.
    • For much of its length it is separated from the mainland by an area of saline water called the Fleet Lagoon.
    • Go for a late afternoon stroll along Chesil Beach or partake in a spot of fishing while looking out to sea.

    Fleet Lagoon

    • The Fleet Lagoon is a shallow area of saline water between Chesil Beach and the mainland. It is 13 km long.
    • The Fleet is an important area for wildlife and is a Special Area of Conservation with over 150 species of seaweed, 25 species of fish and 60 species of mollusc!

    Crab House Cafe

    • Dine in an idyllic ambience overlooking the Portland Coast and Chesil Beach with a great selection of fresh seafood and fresh Oysters. Served at your table within minutes from the sea from their own Portland Oyster beds, just a stones throw from the restaurant.
