Tregoad Lakes

Just some of the wild visitors that have been spotted over the past year enjoying our peaceful woodland area include: Common Buzzards, Sparrowhawks, Cormorants, Moorhens, Kingfishers, Tawny Owls, Woodpeckers, Dragonflies, Roe Deer and more. We have recently added a few extra items which we hope will help us see more activity from our wildlife, such as bat boxes and bird boxes within the greenery, also with the hopes to welcome new life to Tregoad to be spotted during nesting season next year. You may also spot Jon, our ranger down at the lakes. He manages the levels of the lakes as we have an environmental responsibility to manage the water flow from the local farmers fields down to Millendreath. Jon will give you lots of facts and tell you more about all the fun features around the lakes.

We have recently introduced an owl box from the Owl Box Sanctuary which is made from recycled electrical wires and recycled plastics to not only ensure a low carbon footprint but to also withstand the rain and wind during the winter. We have also introduced a fish food dispenser, so your family can feed our fish whilst helping out our chosen charity! The fish have recently returned to the lower lake and are thriving since the lakes have access to lots of sunshine after tree works and regular management by our team. The fish you get to feed include Common Roach, Rudd and Carp.

Last but not least, we have a bug hotel that your little ones will love peeking into to see any creepy-crawlies that may be visiting.
