Planning a holiday in Weymouth? This popular coastal town offers an abundance of family-friendly activities and attractions.

From serene water gardens to historical wonders, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you prefer peaceful exploration or thrilling adventures, Weymouth has it all. Let’s have a look at some of the most fun days out in Weymouth for kids.

Bennetts Water Gardens

Located just a 14-minute drive from Bowleaze Cove Holiday Park & Spa, Bennetts Water Gardens covers 8 acres and houses the National Plant Collection of Water Lilies. While visiting you can explore a Monet-style Japanese Bridge, Tropical House, Woodland Walks, and a Museum. Its opening hours are from 10 am to 4 pm, Sunday to Thursday and there are baby changing facilities and a picnic area onsite.

Nothe Fort

This 19th-century fort is one of Weymouth’s most popular attractions and there are plenty of family-friendly activities to get involved with here during school holidays. Throughout the year the site runs themed activities including Halloween Fun, World War II Week, Easter Fair, and Pirate Week.

During your visit, the kids can engage with interactive displays, including dressing up, Morse code messaging and more, or test their steel in the Ghost Tunnel, voted one of the UK’s spookiest locations!

Southside Funfair

Southside Funfair boasts one of the best indoor play areas in the South West - great for when the weather disappoints. And with 14 rides, there’s something for the whole family! Like Nothe Fort, it schedules different events throughout the year, including Halloween-themed rides and events, Christmas Grottos and more!

Sandworld Weymouth

This inspiring sculpture exhibition is for the budding artists amongst us. SandWorld showcases awe-inspiring work by leading sand sculptors with themes changing yearly. This year you’ll be greeted by sculptures based on sci-fi films and TV series, and many pieces are added throughout the season, so you might have the chance to watch the artists at work while they create their masterpieces!

Tudor House Museum

The building which now houses the Tudor House Museum was built in the early 17th Century, during Elizabeth I’s reign. Characterised by the traditional double gable style of the period, it’s a charming attraction bursting with history. Learn about the various challenges the building faced, including floods, plagues, and wars. It offers a fascinating insight into Tudor life.
