In a bid to reduce their carbon footprint, Waterside Holiday Group have installed an additional 115 kWp of solar panels and converted their streetlights to LED lamps over the winter period.

The project was part funded by Low Carbon Dorset as part of the European Regional Development Fund and will save over 65 tonnes of CO2 each year.

Justin Smith, Business Compliance Manager at Waterside Holiday Group, said:

“The Group is committed to putting sustainability at the heart of everything it does. These and future planned measures will help the group to reduce the use of, and reliance upon, fossil fuels. The burning of these fuels effects climate change, resource depletion and energy security. The group’s long-term goal is to operate on 100 percent renewable sources and become an energy secure location, meaning it can meet its own energy needs without being reliant on external sources, allowing for greater levels of self-determination.” Justin Smith, Business Compliance Manager
