Meet the Owners Who Made Tregoad Their Home From Home

There's something special about finding a place you never want to leave. For our owners at Tregoad Holiday Park, holiday home ownership has become about much more than simply having somewhere to stay. It's about creating a home from home, escaping to Cornwall whenever they choose, spending more time with family and becoming part of a welcoming community. Rather than tell you ourselves, we'd love you to hear from some of the people who know Tregoad best.

Tregoad Holiday Park is a natural paradise, perfectly blending a secluded location with easy access to some incredible local attractions. You don’t need to take our word for it though - why not let our homeowners tell you why they love it here so much?

Frances and Malcolm: "It Just Felt Like Home"

For Frances and Malcolm, discovering Tregoad happened almost by chance during a visit to family already enjoying ownership on the park. One look at the peaceful surroundings, beautiful views and welcoming atmosphere was enough to convince them they had found somewhere special.

Stepping inside their lodge sealed the decision.

“The kitchen struck me first of all – I didn't realise how lovely the kitchens were. We haven't really been in a lodge before. Everything was in the kitchen, [it had] a nice big fridge freezer, it was almost like a living room at home, you know? That's what struck me straight away. I thought, yeah, I could spend quite a bit of time here. It just really felt like it was a home from home.”

Today, their holiday home gives them the freedom to spend quality time together whenever they choose, surrounded by the Cornish countryside they instantly fell in love with.

Giving Back Through Ownership

Holiday home ownership means something different for everyone.

For The Chestnut Appeal for Men’s Health, it became an opportunity to offer families affected by cancer somewhere peaceful to rest, recharge and make precious memories together.

CEO, Lesley-Ann Simpson, says the feedback they've received has been incredibly moving.

“There’s a visitor's book in the holiday home so they can write things. It says… ‘We had a fantastic week, blessed with sunshine. Every day we unwound from this chaotic world, played cards and visited some lovely places, including Lanhydrock, National Trust and Cardingham Woods. We even had fish and chips in Liskeard! Thank you so much for this.”

With the Waterside team by their side before, during and after their purchase, they’ve felt supported at every turn of their holiday home ownership journey.

“They just really do go above and beyond. The process of buying the holiday home was really simple: choose the holiday home and the plot that we wanted, put a deposit down. They gave me a glass of prosecco to celebrate and that was it. Really simple!”

Their lodge continues to provide a peaceful escape for families who need it most.

Laura and Susan: Finding Their Community

What started as a search for somewhere to escape during lockdown quickly became one of the best decisions mother and daughter, Laura and Susan ever made.

Invited to visit Tregoad for the first time, they hadn't expected to become owners before the day was over.

“We were invited here one day and [we] ended up buying one on the day!.. It’s the best thing we ever did, it’s just lovely here.”

Since then, they've discovered that ownership isn't only about having a beautiful holiday home.

It's also about the friendships they've built along the way.

“We’ll pop down every weekend because we’ve made good friends with a lot of people in the park - we all just meet up down there. Chit chat, few drinks, have a laugh. Home away from home isn’t it?”

For them, the sense of community has become every bit as valuable as the holiday home itself.
